Genevieve

Genevieve MCC was founded by Melissa Genevieve Nelson whose personality is as bubbly and playful as her beautifully crafted Methode Cap Classique. She has always had a passion for good quality MCC and with grit and determination she set out to find a way to make her own exceptional MCC. Her first vintage was produced in 2008 from Chardonnay grapes sourced from the Van der Stel Pass between Bot River and Villiersdorp. It was released in 2010 and since then her production has grown substantially.  In 2017 Melissa and her partner Leon purchased a farm in Bot River which became the new home to Genevieve MCC. The farm had existing Syrah and Sauvignon blanc vines. Melissa decided to graft Chardonnay vines onto the Sauvignon blanc vines and the Syrah is being used for her new Rose MCC which will be released soon.

Melissa is intimately involved in every aspect of producing Genevieve MCC but gets advice and support from a number of winemaking experts in her life.

LOCATION:
Melissa meticulously sources her Chardonnay grapes from the Van der Stel Pass and Beaumont in Bot River. The MCC are produced in a cellar in Paarl but are certified as Cape South Coast Wine of Origin. Melissa’s aim for the future is to solely use vines from her own farm to make her MCC.
