Wildekrans Wine Estate

Wildekrans Wine Estate is situated on a farm in Bot River dating back to the 1800s where ox wagons would rest while on their travels. In the early 1900s fruit orchards and vineyards were planted and a wine cellar was built.Amanda and Gary Harlow purchased the Estate in 2007 and have gone to great lengths to restore the old buildings on the farm and to ensure sustainable farming practices are followed. The farm is approx. 1000 ha in size. Since 1997 they have been planting new vineyards comprising of a variety of red and white cultivars. At Wildekrans much attention is spent on the vines as their philosophy is that great wines begin in the vineyards and minimal intervention is required in the cellar. The farm also contains wheat fields, olives, sheep and continues to grow fruit for the export market.
