Crystallum

Crystallum is a small winery owned by brothers Andrew and Peter-Allan Finlayson. Being third generation winemakers and the sons of the Pioneer of Pinot Noir, Peter Finlayson, it is no wonder that this duo have achieved such high accolades for their wines or that their Pinot Noirs are so highly regarded both locally and internationally.Crystallum was established in 2007 and their first vintage was a Sauvignon blanc, however they have now narrowed their focus and concentrate their energy on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Peter-Allan believes that the site and soil have a huge impact on the wines produced. Crystallum sources their grapes from a number of farms, predominantly in the Hemel en Aarde region. The cool climate and terroir are best suited for their chosen two varietals. They also experiment with producing multi vineyard blends and single vineyard wines.

TEAM:
Andrew is an architect but his role in the wine business is in the vineyards. Peter-Allan takes after his father and has a passion for making wine. He is also the winemaker at Gabrielskloof in Bot River.
