TEAM:
Peter has been involved with the winemaking since inception despite having no formal wine training. He has self -taught himself through trial and error and with the guidance of a few mentors. In 2019 Mark Stephens joined the team as winemaker and viticulturist. Peter believes that good wine is made in the vineyards and Mark joined Stanford Hills to learn more about getting the best from the vines.
LOCATION:
Stanford Hills is situated just outside the small village of Stanford. The wines fall within the Stanford Foothills appellation. The factors contributing to the quality of their wines are the different soils types found on the farm, including koffieklip, shale and limestone and the cool breeze from the Atlantic ocean which allows a long ripening period for the grapes.
